ABOUT
DR. DAN LAUNSPACH
Dr.
Dan graduated from the University of Illinois
in 1976, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.
He attended Loyola University College of Dental Medicine to
earn his D.D.S. degree in 1980. He then completed a hospital-based
general practice residency at Foster McGaw Hospital –
Loyola University. In 1981, he moved to Los Angeles to do
his postdoctoral residency in pediatric dentistry at the University
of Southern California. During his pediatric residency program,
he worked at both Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles
and Rancho Los Amigos Hospital. He obtained his certificate
in pediatric dentistry in 1983 and has been practicing pediatric
dentistry in Bakersfield since completion of his residency
program.
Dr. Launspach has two adult sons, Alex and Max. He enjoys traveling, working out, movies, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
ABOUT DR. MARSHALL CHEY
Dr. Marshall received his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA in 2002. In the fall of the same year, he continued his doctorate education by attending Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (formerly known as Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery) in New York City where he received his D.D.S. degree in May of 2006. Following dental school, Dr. Marshall returned to Los Angeles in the fall to attend a General Practice Residency at the Sepulveda VA medical center. Working at the VA hospital gave him the honor and opportunity to meet and serve the heroes of our country. He completed the program and received his certificate of residency in June of 2007. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Marshall returned to New York City in the fall of that year to continue his post-doctorate education by attending the advanced education program in pediatric dentistry at New York University. He gained invaluable experience working with the extensive network of affiliated New York hospitals, including Bellevue and Lutheran. He completed his advanced education and received his certificate in pediatric dentistry from NYU in June of 2009. In November of 2011, Dr. Marshall received his highest achievement by receiving his board certification and becoming a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is the proud member of the ADA, CDA, CSPD, and AAPD. He also currently serves on the board of directors for the Kern County Dental Society (KCDS).
Dr. Marshall is very friendly and caring; most importantly, he is very patient. On his free time he enjoys watching movies and professional sports. He is a huge fan of the Lakers, the Knicks, and the Bruins (no offense to the Trojan or Clippers fans). His hobbies include snowboarding, bowling, and hiking.
ABOUT
DR. SUNWOONG STEVE CHOI
Dr. Choi was born in Seoul, Korea and immigrated at a young age to Southern California. Dr. Choi received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2001. He then obtained his D.D.S. degree at the University of Southern California in 2005. After realizing that he had a passion for surgery, he decided to pursue further training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Choi continued his postgraduate education at the Case School of Dental Medicine, while simultaneously obtaining his medical degree as a part of his residency training. In his residency he obtained the skills needed to perform a host of complex procedures ranging from corrective jaw surgery, dental implant surgery, and bone grafting. Dr. Choi has dual licenses in medicine and dentistry. He is also certified to provide general anesthesia for patients undergoing oral surgery procedures.
Dr. Choi has a clear commitment to excellence while also reflecting strong components of humanism, kindness and compassion. Only after gaining an insight into the patient’s concerns, formulating a comprehensive dental examination and proper diagnosis, will he proceed with presentation of a treatment plan. Dr. Choi is very excited about practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery and is looking forward to serving the community of Bakersfield.
After a long day at the office, Dr. Choi likes to relax by watching a good movie, or playing with is dog.
